About Us

Margaret Garrou Co-Founder, Product Developer, Project Manager

I have dedicated my career to developing outstanding products for kids. I bring a strong knowledge of the marketplace, valuable editing skills, play-testing know-how, and a deep understanding of brand awareness to every project. I love partnering with companies to develop and grow their brand.

After 16 years as a Project Manager and Product Developer at Peaceable Kingdom, overseeing the development of a variety of SKUs and award-winning board games, I partnered with Creative Director Jenny Rez to form Pinwheel Design. Two of my favorite projects have been co-editing Little Passports’ first game Where To? and acting and developing and managing the many fabulous products for Mollybee Kids. I’m also a board game designer and was delighted when the Finnish toy company Martinex published my first game Fix It! in 2023. The second game I designed and developed, Alien Blastoff!, was published by Mollybee Kids in 2024. Currently, I’m consulting with Kibeam as a User Experience Researcher.

Born and raised in North Carolina, I live in San Francisco with my husband, two kids, and cat Misty. When I'm not at my desk, I enjoy volunteering, traveling, reading, and hiking to take in the views from the second hilliest city in the world.

Jenny Rez Co-founder, Creative Director, Designer

I help busy companies bring wonderfully designed and delightful children’s products to market. I have many years of experience in Creative Direction, Art Direction and Design with a focus on games, toys and gifts. I bring a keen design eye, lots of creativity, and clear communication to the table in order to get just the right results for my clients. My goal is to design outstanding children’s products and help you grow your product line!

I have Art Directed and Designed for many outstanding companies including Ravensburger, Paper House Productions, and Scholastic. I worked for over 11 years at Peaceable Kingdom as Senior Designer, Art Director and Creative Director, helped grow their extensive product offering and launched a new line of award winning cooperative board games.

Since forming Pinwheel Design with Co-founder Margaret Garrou, we have teamed up on many projects together. We continue to expand the successful children’s product line for Mollybee Kids and collaborate with other companies on exciting new projects.

As a California native, I grew up drawing oak trees and sea shells. Besides being immersed in the world of fonts, color, and design, I also enjoy the Bay Area sunshine and fog with my family and friends.
